NorthRiver Yacht Club offers the best private club tennis programming for juniors, ladies and men in the Tuscaloosa area.

NorthRiver's Director of Tennis, Coach Clete Browder, is a Tuscaloosa native and junior tennis player success himself. Coach Clete is also the Head Tennis Coach at Tuscaloosa Academy where he has coached the girls and boys tennis team at TA to multiple AISA state championships.

In August of 2020, NorthRiver proudly introduced Paul Thomason as NRYC's new head tennis professional. Paul was formerly the head coach at the University of Alabama-Huntsville for 5 consecutive seasons.

NorthRiver maintains a total of 11 tennis courts, 4 hydro clay, 4 traditional har tru clay, 2 hard (also used as Pickeball courts) and 1 red clay for individual matches and tournament play. NorthRiver's tennis pro shop provides the latest in tennis equipment and apparel for members and their guests.  NorthRiver Tennis hosts adult and junior group sessions, Meet Your Match events, couples clinics, junior camps, ladies mixers, weekly men's nights and many USTA tournaments throughout the year.
